Joel Dick, Vice-President & Chief Operations Officer

Joel manages and oversees all manufacturing operations for Dakota Specialty Milling, guaranteeing all goals for product quality and integrity are met at the highest standards. Before being promoted to his current position, Joel was Vice President of Manufacturing and Director of Technical Sales and Marketing for Dakota Specialty Milling. While working on his Ph.D. in Cereal Science, he was employed by the US Department of Agricultural in Food Technology where he studied cereal and grains. Upon completing his Ph.D., he worked at a malting company. He worked as a teaching and research Professor at North Dakota State University (NDSU) where he taught Cereal Science for more than ten years. Joel holds a B.S. in Medical Technology, an M.S. in Cereal Science, and a Ph.D. with a specialty in Durum wheat quality and evaluation from NDSU. Joel is an active member of the International Association of Cereal Chemists, and is a member of several industry organizations.
